The latest software release for Sky Q being rolled out this month will allow users to organise upto 99 favourite channels. For the first time users will be able to alocate channels to a number starting from 1 to 99 which will be displayed below Skys usual starting channel of 101.
As well as the new favourite and self channel numbering feature Sky will be revamping its official channel numbering system affecting the 'real' channel numbers allocated to broadcasters in early 2018.
Another new feature being released is the an enhanced voice control from the Sky Q touch remote allowing users to talk to their remote to navigate channels and find programmes. Commands such as "Change channel to Sky News" will be a quick channel change and "Play The Walking Dead" for example will show pre-recorded programmes on the hard drive. Other voice control functions will allow you to Start from the beginning, Skip back, Go to Sky Sports amongst others.
Sky Q customers with a 2TB box will also get a dedicated Ultra HD section within My Q, meaning they can find the widest range of UHD content easier and faster than before. Current Ultra HD content includes new Sky Original Productions like Tin Star and Riviera, movies such as The Revenant and X-Men: Apocalypse and 124 Premier League games this season.
